Screw wordpress. I’m so sick of the spam!
This week, in prep for the digital release of Rolling Doubles, Ryan Tidrick and I will be launching a brand new Beefyness.com.
It should be wicked dope…for reals.

Old Nerdy Bastard

May 26th, 2008

Hey gang, do you like mash ups? You strike me as the kind of person that does. Over at nerd news HQ Hipster, Please (be sure to bow down before it’s greatest) Z has compiled an amazing assortment of geek mashes that I am sure you will enjoy. My favorite, clearly, is The Grammar Club vs. Baddd Spellah mix of 99 Balloon Flights. Never before has the glory of Nena (or perhaps even a taste of Goldfinger) been matched so lovely with the rhymes of yours truly and the smooth vocal stylings of Mr. Shael Riley. And that’s just track one. There are 18 other delicious entries for you to enjoy as well. So go check out Old Nerdy Bastard and also let Z know whatcha think.

In other news, this poor site is in need of a face lift. I like wordpress, but I have no idea how to manipulate it, and my Photoshop “skills” (if you can call them that) are very much lacking. So if anyone is interested in working with me to create a new site for Beefyness.com, I would love you forever. Hit me up at beefyness at gmail doc com. Thank you kindly.

STIFF 2008

May 18th, 2008

Hey gang, so remember that nerdcore documentary I would talk about a bunch of years ago?

Nerdcore For Life will be playing June 12th and 15th at the Seattle True Independent Film Festival. And after the screening Thursday night, Ultraklystron, ytcracker, and myself will be doing a show at the Jewel Box Theater. I’m very excited about it. I hope all of the Seattle peeps so up for the screenings and maybe stick around for the show. Much better info follows:

Thursday, June 12. 7:00PM- Capitol Hill Arts Center, Seattle, WA
Sunday, June, 15. 1:30PM- Jewel Box Theater, Seattle WA

Ryan and I would really love for you to show up. I’m sure Dan, YT, and Karl want you guys to show up too. It should be a blast. Ryan and I have seen the flick a handful of times and we dig it and we really think you will too.

Scrubs survives! Scrubs survives!

NBC is being a bunch of little bitches not even mentioning that next week Scrubs will air it’s last episode on NBC. Which only goes to show the lack of respect NBC has given Scrubs over the years. They make it seem like keeping it on the air this long has just been a favor.

The deal is done now though. ABC is picking up Scrubs next year. I usually love NBC and maybe they did keep Scrubs going when other networks would have dropped it, but now it feels like they’re being rude by not giving the show any kind of send off. But who cares? More Scrubs!

Bestestist

April 23rd, 2008

I made a new song this afternoon from a beat I stole from Soundclick. Hope ya dig it.

Beefy - Bestestist

Lyrics…more or less

Hold the presses, I’m ill like kids with polio
I look like the guy on the episode of that show ya know
Keeping up with me, because I play for keeps
I got my ink for free, my baby less than three
I get around, like virus in your inbox
Hot Latino blood like the runner of the White Sox
Like the Hitchhikker’s Guide, I got a heart of gold
But if ya think I’m mostly harmless then I’m ripping off your nose
I’m killing you with flows, like hurricane Katrina
Did he really say that shit? Yo I promise I didn’t mean to
But honestly, I couldn’t give two shits
You’re weak like Skee-Lo, he couldn’t make two hits
Throw your fits, like tossing Tony Little
I’m so low tech, my mic atop a CD spindle
Kissing and caressing on a girl who’s not a freak
I don’t get sleep, could write this album in a week
Go!

Don’t act like you don’t, because I know you know (x3)
I’m killing you with flows
I’m killing you with flows

They call me Beef Thom
Rock it with the lights on
Shake it like a pom-pom
This motherfucker’s awesome
I be the bestestist
See you can burn to this
And yo I never miss
So just throw up your fist

Staying Alive, like I’m the BGs or I’m GLaDOS
Hold the world inside my palm, rock a gauntlent like I’m Thanos
Like a clown on retainer, I’m always down to party
People scared when I roll into their town like Katamari
Come on baby, sorry. I didn’t know that you weren’t naughty
Make you feel like you’re in church. When it’s in you, you say Lordy!
Cause you’re horny like I’m horny. Don’t deny it. Don’t ignore me.
Get you wet and light headed like it’s Sealab and your Stormy
But, um, maybe I should hit the breaks
I vomit Frosted Flakes, everything I spit is gggggreat!
Catch me in a circle like a dot, got my cootie shot
Like tectonic plates, I’ve been known to make your body rock
Corners asking whatcha got? Medicine and purple pot
Like Damien Hess yo, I’ve been known to Frontalot
Like carnies on strike, my flow is no fair
I’m not a daredevil, but the devil made me dare
Go!

Don’t act like you don’t, because I know you know (x3)
I’m killing you with flows
I’m killing you with flows

They call me Beef Thom
Rock it with the lights on
Shake it like a pom-pom
This motherfucker’s awesome
I be the bestestist
See you can burn to this
And yo I never miss
So just throw up your fist

Gasping For Air

April 18th, 2008

My boys in From The Dust are amazing. So much so that I want to steal their music so bad just so I can make remixes with them. It is because of this I’ve felt the need to add vocals to an otherwise already complete and all around fantastic song, just because I dug it and wanted to be involved with it somehow. So without further delay I present to you a beefier version of a From The Dust track.

RSS and ¿Release Date?

April 15th, 2008

Hey gang, I know I don’t update this mofo as much as I’d like, but don’t forget to update your RSS information since the site has gone through a whole bunch of nonsense.

In other news, the album is finally at the point where all the tracks are mixed. Now all that is left to do is tweak and master and get them puppies printed out. So don’t be shocked if you see me making a big post at the end of May that says, “You can has my albumzorz now!”

16 Beefy II and Dork Date

April 14th, 2008

So a while ago my good friend Ryan Tidrick hipped me to Nine Inch Nail’s new Ghosts albums. Now, I’m not a fan of NIN but that’s not to say I don’t dig them either. I just haven’t really listened to them yet. So Ryan tells me that basically all of their songs are on creative commons and all that fun stuff, so we went flipping through a bunch of the tracks until we reached 16 Ghosts II which sounded all bit poppy to me right away. I did a little mumble freestyle in the car to see if I could rap to it, and it was a seeming success. So check out my collaboration with Nine Inch Nails that they don’t even know they were a part of on my myspace.

Also on my myspace, at the request of my buddy Heath, is another track from Rolling Doubles called Dork Date. The beat is by Doc Pop and it’s a pretty nice little sweet song I wrote…for the ladies. And the name dropping in it is insane. Hope ya dig em.

Later this week you can look forward to more Rolling Doubles news as well as reviews for Dual Core albums Super Powers and the new hotness Lost Reality. I also suggest that people in the Northwest make it to Ellensburg, WA this Friday at The LoudHouse for the Random Orbits/From The Dust show featuring a brief bit of Beefy sexyness. You know you wanna be there. Do not deny it! Love Beefy.
